Hurghada:

Hurghada is one of the most famous cities in the red sea governorate, it’s a coastal town stretching almost 40 kilometers alongside the Red Sea. The city is famed for its scuba diving activities. Snorkeling, diving and parasailing are offered in almost every beach resort in Hurghada. The Red Sea is generally renowned for its beautiful coral reef, colorful fish and sea creatures which are pleasant to get a close look at. Marsa Alam

Marsa Alam was a small village but since the airport’s opening, it became an outstanding tourist resort known for the beauty of its crystal&clear water. It is a distinguishable destination for diving enthusiasts for its famous Elphinestone reef with the existence of colorful corals and rare spectacular species. Also, it has an important role in the Egyptian economy as it has the first producing gold mine in Egypt.

Ras Ghareb

Ras Ghareb was once the capital of the Red Sea Governorate and it’s considered now as one of the most leading centers that’s responsible for petroleum production in Egypt. It’s also very famous for wind farms. Engie, the French electric utility company, has recently established the 262.5MW Ras Ghareb wind farm which deems to be the first private and largest wind farm in Egypt. Ras Ghareb is located on the African side of the Gulf of Suez, which makes it the perfect destination for divers to dive any time of the year with the never ending warm winters and hot summers. Additionally, Ras Ghareb is a very famous destination for mines and mine activities in Egypt.

Halayeb and Shalateen

They are two major towns located on the African side of the Red sea covering an area of 20,580 km2 and they lie at the borders between Egypt and Sudan. Halayeb is the south gate of Egypt which is responsible of providing services for passers on the Egyptian borders with Sudan. Egypt considers Halayeb as an important factor of its security on the Red Sea borders with Sudan, while Sudan also sees it important for its unity and Independence. Shalateen is known with its fish wealth and land fertility; also it has five villages such as; Abu Ramad and Abraq. An argument started between Egypt and Sudan in claiming the two regions to be under control one of them and after many discussions between the two countries finally the Sudanese troops pulled out of Halayeb and Shalateen in Mubarak’s time and Egypt put the two regions under its control in 2000.

El Quseir

Is a city on the east of the Red Sea coast. Populated for approximately 5,000 years, during the Ptolemaic era it was called Myos Hormos. Historically, it connects Egypt and the Red Sea by the endpoint of Waddi EL Hammamat . El Quseir is located south Hurghada by 138 kilometres, north Marsa Alam by 130 km and  north the International Airport of Marsa Alam by 68 km. In 1986, its population was 20,000. The population of El Quseir now is around 50,000.
